about me

First and most importantly, you should know that I am a Jesus-girl.  I grew up believing Jesus came to this earth and died to save me.  I asked Him to forgive me and knew without a doubt that I could trust Him for eternal life after I die.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

I didn't realize until I was older that He could give me more than just eternal life... He wanted to give me abundant life too!

The thief comes only to steal & kill & destroy; I came that they may have life, & have it abundantly. John 10:10

I absolutely cannot imagine a life without Jesus.
I truly believe that every part of my life is intertwined with the plans God has for me.  He blessed me with a spectacular husband and four amazing boys.  Our two oldest came the old-fashioned way and our two youngest came by way of foster care adoption.  I am passionate about orphan care, especially family preservation efforts - like Compassion International.  Obviously, our hearts are stirred toward foster care as well because of our sons and their journey to us.

I love coffee, candy, and crafting.  Not necessarily in that order.

This old blog has been around since 2006.  It started as a family blog - about our family, for our family.  Mostly, its still that.  I tried to start a "public" blog complete with pseudo-names to protect our privacy.  I could never find my voice there.  I ended up locking this thing down tight with privacy settings for a l-o-n-g time, and just quietly kept telling our stories to our far-off family members.  About two years ago {before our boys came home} I had been sewing + selling, so I had a blog to promote that sort of stuff.  However,  it came to a screeching halt when two toddlers came on scene - and I am perfectly fine with that! I've just recently decided to try and make this old family blog of ours a bit more user-friendly in the off chance that a newcomer stops by.  Welcome to our little corner of the internet!  You'll find me telling stories about our family and the lessons God teaches me as He writes each chapter.
